Living Streets Aotearoa is a national pedestrian advocacy organisation with local branches aiming to have more people walking more often through the creation of liveable, multi-purpose streets that are safe, sociable and interesting. The national executive operates at the national advocacy level on such things as getting explicit attention paid to pedestrians in the Road Code and getting lower speed limits around schools, business zones and other places where they are currently too high. Locally, events promoting walking such as Walk to Work breakfasts, workplace challenges etc are organised or supported.
