Palmerston North Women’s Health Collective ​Te Hā o Hine-ahu-one

Palmerston North Women’s Health Collective Te Hā o Hine-ahu-one empowers wāhine/women and their whānau to have more control over their health and fertility through information and the provision of free personal health services for women (and children), and access to free and low-cost services. Community development and caring for the natural environment is an important part of a holistic approach to health. The Collective's future focus includes:

  • Continuing to provide our core health services as per our brochure.
  • Developing our environmental awareness and networks.
  • Pātaka Kai (community pantry food sharing).
  • Advocating to PNCC for ecoburials, providing information on natural self-help after-death choices, and developing a shared community resource to support natural, environmentally friendly and family-led after-death care.

Their vision, moemoeā: a future where every woman/wahine understands, cares for and is able to heal her body, mind, spirit, whānau, community and te taiao the natural environment.
