PNCC is promoting a local bill to amend the Palmerston North Reserves Empowering Act 1966. The amendment would bring Huia Street Reserve within this Act, enabling Council to sell the land in future.

The Bill has now been referred to a Select Committee, the Environment Committee. Written submissions from the general public to the Environment Committee closed on the 18  February 2022.    A report is due back to the House from this Committee by 8 June 2022.
