Te Roopu Oranga o Highbury

A Maori centred and driven group, aiming to alleviate the effects of poverty and improve the prerequisites for health, in areas of food security, housing, income, a stable ecosystem, sustainable resources, and social justice and equity. The group distributes free food and recycled clothing, provides free transport and support for people attending health and social services, general peer support, volunteer training, and hosts a Kaumatua group. The group runs Te Whare Koha community centre in Highbury, which has a vegetable garden to help supply the free food shop with healthy food.
