Tip #5: Test and Measure

This is the simplest way to raise more funds, but it is also the one piece of advice that most people ignore. Test and measure everything and then use what works best!
If you are writing a donor letter, send out two different versions and measure which version gets the most response. If you are telling client stories at public events, try different angles and measure which one generates the best results. If you are sending emails to supporters, use different subject lines and measure which email gets the most opens or clicks. Use Google Analytics to measure changes on your website, and Facebook insights to measure interaction on your Facebook page.
If you don’t test different options and measure the results, you have no idea if you’re doing things in the best possible way. Test, measure and tweak.
