Rangiwahia Environmental Arts Centre Trust Inc.run creative projects within the community such as the annual Lantern Parade. Their Kaupapa relates to Kaitiakitanga, Aroha and Kotahitanga.
They are seeking volunteers who have an interest in creativity, the environment, and who like people, to join us to be hands on in public workshops and at events. In workshops you would be helping participants achieve the set activity and keeping an eye out for tasks to be done (refilling glue pots, tidying workspace as necessary etc). All training would be provided, and you should learn some new skills along the way.
Workshops are usually at weekends or during school holidays and in the Manawatu, mostly in Palmerston North. At events such as the Lantern Parade or Lit Night Bike Ride it's all hands on deck, helping carry centerpieces or supporting those that do. Anyone with an interest in Lighting would get experience with low power systems. There is potential for this to become paid work on a casual part time basis.
