Napier Conference Centre - 48 Marine Parade, Bluff Hill, Napier 4110

Cape to City and Poutiri Ao ō Tāne are ecological restoration projects in Te Matau a Māui / Hawke’s Bay, along the eastern coast of New Zealand’s North Island. They are working to restore native species across 34,000 hectares of mainly farmland. The vision is to bring native species back to Hawke’s Bay to thrive as part of the landscape – and our lives.

This three day national conference is an opportunity to find out what has been learned over the last four years in large scale ecological restoration and landscape scale predator pest management. The conference will look at the big picture of biodiversity restoration in New Zealand, and also consider some practical pathways to achieving this goal.

Speakers include Ruud Kleinpaste, Bug Man and Cape to City Ambassador, Campbell Leckie, Hawke’s Bay Regional Council Land Services Manager, Lou Sanson, Director, Department of Conservation, Paul Atkins, CEO Zealandia, and Stephen Lee, Manuka Farming NZ Ltd

The conference will include presentations and field trips to both restoration projects.

Super early-bird 2 day registration $ 200 (register by September 30, limited tickets available).

2 day registration $580, 1 Day $ 320, field trip $55. 2 day registration for full-time student or retired $335.
